What Is a Botanical Object?
Enjoying Plants as Interior Decor Without Fresh Flowers
Discover a way to bring the forms and quiet presence of plants into your home
without watering or special care.
Even when you want to decorate your home with plants, factors such as sunlight, watering, and available space can make it difficult. Fresh flowers are beautiful, but they change with the seasons and over time, and require regular care.
A botanical object offers another way to enjoy the forms of plants and the feeling of nature in everyday life.
At VITA RAMUS, we observe flowers, leaves, branches, fruits, and other botanical forms, expressing their delicate beauty primarily through brass and other metals. Rather than vases for displaying fresh plants, our pieces are complete interior objects combining sculpted botanical forms with their bases.
01 / BOTANICAL OBJECT
Interior Objects That Celebrate Botanical Forms
"Botanical" refers to plants, while an "object" is a sculptural piece designed to be displayed within a space. A botanical object is an interior piece that allows you to enjoy plants themselves, or forms inspired by plants, as part of everyday living.
Some botanical objects become a focal point in a room like large houseplants, while others are small enough to sit on a shelf or desk. Their appeal lies in the ability to bring a subtle sense of nature even into limited spaces.
02 / DIFFERENCE
How They Differ from Fresh, Artificial, and Dried Flowers
None is inherently better than another. Each offers a different way of enjoying plants and incorporating them into everyday life.
FRESH FLOWERS
Fresh Flowers
Enjoy their fragrance, freshness, and ever-changing appearance. Regular water changes and temperature management are required.
ARTIFICIAL FLOWERS
Artificial Flowers
Enjoy floral colors and volume for a long time, making them suitable for a wide variety of interior arrangements.
DRIED FLOWERS
Dried Flowers
Enjoy the distinctive colors, textures, and natural variations created through the drying process.
BOTANICAL OBJECT
Botanical Object
Designed to celebrate botanical forms and the character of the material. They require neither water nor sunlight and can be displayed even in small spaces.
03 / WHY BRASS
Why Express Plants in Brass?
Flowers and leaves are delicate, and their most beautiful moments can also be fleeting. By translating these forms into enduring metal, VITA RAMUS seeks to bring the gentle curves and quiet presence of plants into everyday life.
Brass is a warm material that softly catches the light. It harmonizes naturally with wood, stone, glass, paper, linen, and other materials, making it suitable for both modern and Japanese-inspired interiors.
Uncoated brass gradually develops a deeper tone through exposure to air and touch. The botanical form remains, while the material itself changes over time. Being able to enjoy both is one of the reasons we choose brass.
04 / HOW TO DISPLAY
Display with Space Around It
Botanical objects are best displayed without overcrowding their surroundings. Leaving a little open space around the piece allows the botanical silhouette and the shadows cast on the wall to stand out.
Entryway — As a small landscape that greets you when you return home.
Shelf or Cabinet — Leave space between the object, books, and tableware to create a quiet focal point.
Desk — As a calming presence where the eyes and mind can rest.
Windowsill — A place to enjoy the changing natural light and shadows.
Because no water or soil is required, botanical objects can be placed near books and work essentials and easily moved with the changing seasons.

A Maker with Expertise in Metal Gives Form to Plants
VITA RAMUS was born from approximately 20 years of experience in the planning and production of metal products and jewelry. We observe plants closely, handle everything from sculptural design to product development in-house, and work with workshops in Japan through the joining and finishing processes.
To express the delicacy of plants in metal, every detail is carefully considered, from leaf veins and the curves of branches to the overall balance of each piece. Slight variations in form and color are part of the individual character created by the material and handcrafted process.
